Architectural Concrete in the Lobby of Hotel “St. George”
For the reception area in the lobby of Hotel “St. George,” located in the center of Sofia, MI Concrete produced and installed countertops and cladding made of high-performance architectural concrete. Executed in a soft beige-pink tone, the concrete elements create a balanced and elegant accent that complements the interior concept and introduces visitors to the space through a material with a strong presence and refined finish.
Smooth Transitions and Spatial Form Development
As a natural extension of the reception area, a concrete planter in the same color palette transitions seamlessly into a railing, marking the shift to the lower level of the restaurant. The concrete stair railing is designed as a monolithic element with pronounced plasticity, guiding visitors toward the dining area and connecting the different levels through a consistent language of form and material.
Functional Elements with Distinct Geometry
Within the restaurant interior, MI Concrete also realized a concrete sink for the bar area, executed in dark grey with a complex geometric form combined with an oval countertop. The contrast between the dark concrete and the lighter interior elements emphasizes the sculptural character of the piece and demonstrates the possibilities for precise shaping and custom design.
Connecting Interior and Exterior
The transition to the restaurant’s outdoor terrace is resolved through concrete steps, produced in the same beige-pink tone as the lobby elements. The steps feature oval shapes in plan, following the geometry of the furniture and contributing to the visual connection between interior and exterior. Within a vibrant interior defined by bold geometric solutions, the concrete elements act as a unifying base and a durable architectural accent.
